In the rare moments Jeff isn't working, he enjoys "the beautiful game" of soccer and reminiscing on his days as an elite level player and youth coach. Jeff is also an auto enthusiast and can talk about cars almost as passionately as he can talk about building science! His family is of the utmost importance in his life. He and his wife, Jen love playing with their nieces and nephews every chance they get. They welcomed their own baby boy, Parks in May of 2021 and second son, Brewer in August of 2022!
Vice President of Construction
Lake is JCCH's first hired Builder who comes to us as an experienced Civil Engineer with a professional engineering (PE) license. Having earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Virginia Tech, he innately enjoys the great outdoors, hunting, and college football. Lake is often referred to as 'The Plane Duck', which is the name of his custom woodworking hobby business (IG: @theplaneduck). In his free time, you can find him and his girlfriend, Morgan, working on home improvement projects around their house in Ballantyne or taking their bulldog, Cannoli, for short walks. If you're in need of a good chuckle, you can count on Lake as he always has a pocketful of dad jokes.
Veteran builder Chris comes to us with a wealth of experience we are fortunate to add to the team. Chris hails from Sanford, NC and moved to Charlotte in 2016 so his 7 year old daughter, Ella could “experience life on a larger scale.” Following a B.S. in Business Management from NC State, Chris first earned his North Carolina GC license in 1998 and has been building ever since. There isn’t a building question Chris doesn’t have the answer to. He even spent 6 years teaching high school carpentry! Chris enjoys his wife Veronica’s laugh, daughter Ella's wit, annual family trips to Tybee Island and Savannah, carpentry projects, gardening/landscaping his yard and being outdoors.
Rick’s rich history in the construction industry runs in the family! Beginning in 1975, Rick built cabinets with his father and grandfather who went on to own and operate a successful kitchen and bath business which they finally sold in 2006. It was then that the native New Yorker moved to NC for a change of pace and to spend more time with his young family. Rick has operated high volume contracting and renovation divisions in a corporate setting, owned his own kitchen and bath showroom, and most recently comes to us from a local luxury home builder where he managed the custom division. He was also a Volunteer Fireman for 18 years!
In his downtime, Rick enjoys spending time with his wife of 31 years, his 3 kids ages 26, 22 and 19 and his 2 dogs Westy and Cooper. He also likes to spend time in his shop restoring old things.
Jen Hill Chance
At the helm of our in-house design is Jen. Her natural artistic aptitude and appreciation for architecture are what’s behind each JCCH spec home. She sketches each plan by hand, down to the wall thickness, to be drafted and engineered. She then selects all of the details and finishes so if you like any of our spec homes, you can thank Jen! Jen also assists in much of the quality control and background action at JCCH. Along with the talented outside designers we partner with for custom clients, Jen is also available to help facilitate bringing your custom home dreams to life.
Office Manager and In-House Agent
Ashley is thrilled to be a member of JCCH, joining the team as an Office Manager. Originally from South Jersey, Ashley and her husband Greg decided to see what Southern hospitality was all about. They loved it so much, they decided to plant some roots over on the West Side in their very own JCCH home! Ashley did her studies at West Virginia University and is currently a NC Real Estate Broker. If you ever need someone to pet your dog, watch a hockey game with or play a round of kan-jam, she's your girl!
